November 2, 2007

Well, I guess its my turn now. Monday, October 29th, I suffered a minor heart attack and have been in the hospital since. I had one stent put in on Tuesday but still need three more. I was scheduled for Thursday but ran a low fever so the procedure was post-poned until Friday. Last, night the surgeon stopped by and said the cath lab is already booked, so the plan is to release me for the weekend and return next week as an out patient.

I feel really good after the first stent, all of the pain disappeared within about five minutes after the stent was deployed. I have felt good since but am really enjoying the opportunity to rest and sleep.

Joe said to tell you he's glad you survived. And you will probably do well with the stents. He has one that has lasted 8 years and had another one put in last year when he had his second attack. When he had his first attack 8 years ago, and went to the cath lab, as soon as the needle went through the clot the relief was immediate.
You two have even more in common now. Enjoy the rest. Lots of love to you and Lynn

Dear Darryl,

I'm so very glad that your heart attack wasn't as serious as it could of been. You are both in my thoughts and prayers often and I'm so very thankful God has continued to be with you both during Lynne's illness and I know he will continue to be with you through this new challenge.

Love ya both,

Hi Darrell & Lynne,

I was just talking to my sister, Bev Harlow, and she told me about your heart attack.

Boy, things just keep coming at you and Lynne, but you seem to take everything in stride and keep plugging away.

I'm so glad to hear that your stent has helped you, and also that Lynne is doing better. Wilbur, my husband, had a heart attack in Nov. of 2003, and had two stents put in. He has done fine since then. Isn't it wonderful that they can use the stents now, instead of open heart surgery for everything? It's neat that the Dr. let you go home for the weekend. I'm sure your upcoming stents will help you feel even better once they are in.

I just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you both, and tell you to keep up the good work! I'm sure the Lord will stay with you as He has in the past with all of Lynne's treatments. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Sincerely, Joyce Ellis
